MISSION JOURNAL - OCTOBER 2006

Sunday, October 8, 2006

Our final day in Kurnool actually began by sleeping in. The pastor's conference was over and most of the team stayed up into the wee hours of the morning talking and celebrating what God had done last night. It was one of the most powerful experiences any of us had ever had.

Dr. Pete and Bishop Ernest began their day by working with the Miracle Net TV folks to cut the Intros and Closes for the EIGHT shows they will do covering the redemption. It is so WILD that we are getting this type of coverage and opportunities so early in our ministry. Praise God for GREAT FAVOR!

The team gathered in the afternoon for prayer and spent several hours together basking in the glow of God's Spirit and listening him for guidance for the festival... We knew it would be a very special evening.

When we arrived at the festival grounds, Dr. Pete recorded another short segment for Miracle Net and then things kicked off with a bang. The choir sang beautifully and featured a guest artist, who was very popular singing for the Indian film industry. Young people who formed a native dance team entertained the crowd in traditional costumes and makeup. Bishop Ernest publicly thanked each individual who made the event possible and then adorned Dr. Pete in a large flowered lei.

Then the team was lead from the stage and walked in a single file line out through the crowd. This is evidently a traditional thing to do, and although we knew how much the people appreciated it, it was still a bit uncomfortable at times as people reached out to touch the team members in the hope receiving a blessing. One thing I will say about the Indian people who attend these crusades, they desperately want to be blessed. May God be faithful to these desires of their heart. last night

The Miracle Net TV folks estimated the crowd at approximately one hundred thirty thousand people. It is hard to imagine that there could have been more people than last night since the grounds were pretty much at capacity, but the attendees had spilled out into the surrounding streets and were listening from there as well.

Onlookers even climbed the surrounding walls and perched there while the festivities went on.

As had become tradition on this trip before Dr. Pete took the podium, our Sister Peggy Powers took the stage and ushered in the presence of God with her spirit song. Click Here to hear Peggy sing. It quickly became clear that God was going to do it again. The grounds were filled to overflowing, the crowd was on their feet worshiping and it was time for Dr. Pete to begin.

Once again his message was to the point... Jesus is alive and dead Jesus can not do anything. He explained in simple term how what we have as believers is a relationship with a living savior who was and is the source for the solutions to life's situations. It was a great way to leave them with the gospel. Click Here to hear the people chanting for Jesus.

And once again, as the salvation message was presented and Dr. Pete asked if any would like to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior thousands upon thousands and thousands of hands shot into the heavens. And as they flooded the area in front of the stage, it was hard to imagine there could be anyone left in Kurnool to be saved.

last crowds
Dr Pete wrapped up the evening with a healing service that literally had thousands healed. Eyes, ears, cancer, difficulties with walking, depression... you name it and Dr. Jesus was at work... A fact that was confirmed by the ones who came forward to testify and the thousands upon thousands of hands in the air attesting to being healed. Praise God for his healing power and his willingness to heal. Click here to see a few testimonies.
more miracles

Immediately after the crusade was over, it was back on the bus and off to Hyderbad (4+ hours away). Tomorrow we will get some rest, do some shopping and fly out around 1 am. We will be back in the states Tuesday evening. On our next posting (probably Wednesday afternoon or Thursday, we will wrap up the trip, and hear some parting comments from the team. Please check back soon for more videos of the crusade and a summary of the Women of Might's first few days in India with the widows... Wow, they had some amazing stories.

Thank you all for your prayers during this trip. Your intercession paved our way and covered us with blessings as we did the Lord's work... we couldn't have done it without you... We praise God for each and evey one of you.
