A Tale of Two Cities - Warangal and Nellore

Charles Dickens began his classic work, "A tale of two cities." with these words...

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."

And for many of us the promise of this trip and the time leading up to our arrival in Hyderabad lived up to that description...

As is usually the case, the enemy does his best to confuse, confound, frustrate and otherwise side-track us from our objective. For many the attacks seemed centered around financial circumstances. Last minute team cancellations and changes in itinerary threatened our focus and yet God's grace was manifest and everyone got to the airport and on the plane, although He let us go right to the wire.

When one of our videographers was unable to go at the last minute, Dave Sulack called his brother John, a retired photography instructor and asked if he would consider going along to India. No one knew that earlier that morning on November 1st at about the same time that the videographer was calling to cancel, John was rededicating his life to the Lord with words like, "What ever you want me to do, I'll do, Where ever you want me to go, I'll go." Three hours later, John got his answer from the Lord when he got the call. He had never pictured himself, even remotely in the mission field, but after a chain of events that included a mission conference, a study of "The Purpose Driven Life" and some serious soul searching, the Lord gave him the opportunity to be obedient and answer His call... and he did.

The next obstacle came in how to get the Indian Visa and have him on an airplane in three and a half working days. Once again, the Lord came through with one new team member, Still Photographer Stevi Rouse actually walking the passport and visa application into the Indian Consulate on Monday to get the visa. The next challenge was to get his passport back to him in order to make the plane. Once again, God did the "impossible" and John was able to check his luggage all the way to Hyderabad with just a photocopy of his passport and no visa, and then because of a woman's kindness was able to get through security and to the gate in Detroit on that same photocopy... Folks, in this post 9-11 era, that is UNHEARD OF! But God did it and Stevi showed up at the gate with the passport/visa just in time to walk John onto the plane as the doors closed behind them. PRAISE GOD!

That was a best of times moment, that the enemy meant for the worst of times... as he intended when most of the luggage checked in Knoxville did not make it to Hyderabad! The best of times was that God allowed the camera gear through and for the most part all that was delayed was clothing and toiletries... but we made it! ... and we can get clothes tomorrow.

And we praise God even with delayed luggage because we have seen his might and we know that even though the enemy tried to serve us up a cold helping of "the worst of times", Jesus turned our mourning into dancing and we praised God for this victory.

We are so excited, because anytime the enemy throws up this much opposition it is because God has mighty things in store.... and we know that the word has gone out in the spiritual realm that WE ARE BACK! Praise God!

We are blessed to have an incredible team assembled here. Each member brings certain strengths and giftings that He will use. Take a minute now and meet the group.

Dr. Pete Sulack: Minister of the Gospel, chiropractor and founder of Matthew 10 Ministries-will preach at services each night. Dr. Pete, his wife Stephanie, and their three sons, Isaiah 8, Eli 7, and Ashton 3, live in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is the owner of Exodus Chiropractic, a Christ centered chiropractic clinic focusing on healing and maintaining God's temple, the human body. While on a mission trip to Africa, God showed him a vision for the world and called him to go after souls for the Kingdom, hence the birth of Matthew 10 Ministries. Dr. Pete's vision is to bring 100,000,000 souls into the Kingdom of God." I want to let the world know that Jesus is alive. It is truly the Grace of God that the Lord of the Universe chose us and appointed us to go and bear fruit." He expects a multitude of people to experience the tangible love, presence and power of God that has no counterfeit and cannot be falsely duplicated. He also expects the people to enter into a true relationship and experience being a true child of God. "We will see cities transformed by the mighty power of God."

Rev. Dave Sulack: Director of Ministry, Matthew10, will assist with pastoral training and support his son, Dr. Pete. Dave and his wife Laurel live in Shoreview, a suburb of Minneapolis, MN. They have 3 grown children, , Dr. Pete, Dr. Mike and Heather and 6 grandchildren, Isiah, Eli, Ashton, Andrew, Hannah and Treyton; .Dave's desire is to serve the team and work with the Indian Leaders of Manna Ministries. He is also here to guide and protect Pete, Minister to the pastors and better understand the Church in India. As far as his expectations of this trip, "I want to see tens of thousands of people radically changed through and for Christ." He hopes to come to a deeper unifying purpose for Manna Ministries and Matthew10 Ministries with an understanding of the next steps to take with these powerful ministries.

John Sulack: Photographer, Videographer, Storyteller. John and his wife Pam live in Bloomington, Minnesota. They have 3 Grown Children, Carla (and husband Joe), Karen and Nick and twin 5 year old grandchildren Celia and Hunter. As we described above, John is a retired school teacher and feels as though his family has been greatly blessed. "It feels so good to be able to give back." He says that Pete told him that he would never be the same and he is looking forward to sharing in the Ministry of Matthew10 Ministries. This is his first mission trip.

Kathryn Concannon - Widows Ministry Support. Kathryn is the Communications Director for the Widows Ministry Center in Severville, where she lives with her husband. She has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren. This is Kathryn's first trip with Matthew 10. "I want to impact people for God, to show his love and mercy to those who desperately need him." Her desire is to be changed so that she is more in tune with the Lord, his will and direction. She is excited to see thousands of new souls brought into the Kingdom of God. She also plans to document the stories of some of the widows while she is here.

Darlene Wells - Widows Ministry Support. Darlene comes to us from Bristol Virginia where she is the supervisor for the Widows Mite Ministry for Kingsway Charities. She has 3 daughters, Laura Leigh, Brittney, and Kayla, 2 grandchildren, Caden and Aleigha. She came to India to minister and be a blessing to the widows... to bring hope. "I want to see hope fill the faces of many. This is Darlene's first trip with Matthew10 to India.

Stevi Rouse- Still Photographer, Storyteller - Stevi currently lives in Chicago where she works as a photographer and photo/stylist assistant. "I am on this trip to pursue my passion for photo journalism and international missions and to join in the excitement and growth of Matthew10" She looks forward to learning about the lives of the people she will travel with and the people we encounter... and in the process she hopes to learn more about herself and most importantly, the Lord.

Teresa Feliciano - Minister of the Gospel and team support - If Teresa looks familiar, it is because she is the mother of our own Alicia Eason. She and her husband Gil live in Knoxville where they still have 5 children at home (not counting Alicia and husband Jason) Alexis, Ashley, Alexander, Ariel and Anna. She is proud to serve the Lord and her family as wife and mother and has home schooled all of her children. She says that the Lord placed traveling with Matthew10 on her heart and then worked out the details, timing and finances for her to be on this trip. "All I did was walk into the calling. I want to be and open vessel for the people of India. I want them to see Jesus through me."

Bishop Tony Slay, Th.D.: Pastor-will minister during the Pastor's conference. Tony, his wife Elaine, and their twin 14 year old daughters Amy and Rachel, hail from Jacksboro, Tennessee. Tony is the CEO of Ministry International Inc., a ministry to ministers providing continuing education and training, free counsel and advice for those in the ministry. Tony is also an noted evangelist and has preached all over the world. He is here to help Dr. Pete in ministry to the team and the pastors at the pastors' conference, and be part of reaching a great harvest. He expects to see pastors being equipped and re fired, hundreds of thousands saved, mass healings and whole cities transformed through the power of the Gospel.

Rev. Jeff Sorvik Minister of the Gospel, will speak at the pastors conference . Jeff and his wife Michele Live in Duluth Minnesota where he pastors Anchor Point Community Church. Jeff and Michelle have 3 children, Caleb 18, Joshua 16 and Hannah 14. Jeff has known Dave and Dr. Pete for years and became interested in what Matthew10 was doing in India, and then he got the call. This is his second trip to India with the team. "I came to encourage pastors and to support Dr. Pete in any way I can. I want to continue to be a part of supporting the amazing things that God is doing in India." His expectations for the trip are simple... to see God move in power, with thousands saved and healed and as a result see many new churches planted.

Gary Skeen: minister with the team. Gary, his wife Penny (Worship Leader/Prayer Warrior) their son, Christian (man of God and Student in Ms. Sullivan's Class at the Christian Academy of Knoxville), and their three dogs, Buddy, Patch and Bella live in Knoxville, Tennessee. Gary is a security analyst for LeGacy Corporation and has served on numerous mission teams around the world. . He shares Dr. Pete's vision for 100,000,000 souls and loves seeing God's miracles, signs and wonders first hand. Gary expects this trip to be a life changing event for everyone on the team as we watch the hand of God move in alignment with His perfect will. His prayer is to see spiritual changed in himself and his family as a result of his involvement with this ministry.Gary would like to thank those who contributed to the financing of his trip and prays that they will reap bountiful blessings from their involvement in what he believes will be the greatest harvest of souls in the history of Matthew 10trip.Gary joins the team for the fourth time as our head of security.

Jerry Pierce: Minister with the team and security. Jerry and his wife Suzanne live in Lenore City outside of Knoxville. They have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Jeff is retired from the Army where he was a helicopter maintenance supervisor. Jerry has known Dr. Pete since he Dr. Pete first came to town and has felt a call to India ever since Pete started talking about it. This is his second trip with Matthew10 Ministries. He knows in his spirit that he is supposed to be here. "I expect to see thousands of salvations, healings and deliverances. We will see the Kingdom of God with Power."

Alicia Eason: Coordinator for the trip/God's serving angel to the ministry! One of the most bubbly, energetic balls of energy on this trip is Alicia. She and her husband Jason of two years, live in Knoxville where she serves as coordinator of Matthew10 International Ministries. She believes that she is here to be a blessing and servant to the Matthew10 team and the people of India. Alicia expects to see a mighty harvest of souls saved. She is also grateful for the opportunity to work with the destitute children. "<On this trip> I expect to see thousands upon thousands saved, healed and delivered at the crusades.

Carol Marie Smith: minister with the team, and widows ministry. Carol Marie is no stranger to the mission field and has traveled to Africa, India, Central and South America. Carol Marie is the Chaplain for the Widows Ministry Center in Severville, Tennessee. A widow herself, she has been called to empower the widows and represent them on Dr. Pete's board. She felt led to be here to back up Dr. Pete and the Team in prayer and through ministry to the widows. bringing them into the healing of empowerment. She wants God to raise up an army of intercessors; widows that will call in the harvest; and establish the borders in India for Jesus Christ. She also has a strong desire to mentor the widows who are leaders and help them continue their work. Carol Marie also has a strong desire to educate pastors and their wives on the mandate to the church to care for, and honor the widows, so that they will accept the widows position in God.

Peggy Powers : praise and worship/ widows ministry . Peggy joins us from Knoxville Tennessee. There she manages the optical department at Sam's Wholesale Club, but actually has a degree in music education. Peggy plays guitar and leads worship in various area churches and gatherings. .Peggy got additional training at Lionheart Acts House of Worship, a ministry center modeled after the International House of Prayer in Kansas City . Her hearts desire is to sing over India and watch God work. This is her second trip with us and fully expects to see miracles... new limbs, deaf hear, blind see, pain relieved, even a creative eye for a man who lost his.She is praying for souls, souls and more souls, with an open heaven and the freedom for Dr.Pete to speak.

Mike Wadel : Document arian/Story Teller/Media Specialist. Mike and his wife Jinger live in Chattanooga. Together they have 4 children ranging in age from 23 to 17; Joshua, Lyndsi, Houston, Trent and just last weekend celebrated the first birthday of their granddaughter Baleigh.. Together, Mike and Jinger have an advertising agency and a production company in Chattanooga, . About 3 1/2 years ago, the Lord showed Mike the need for production support in the mission field. "We need to give them the tools to tell the story of what God is doing around the world and to help them raise the support they need to continue. That is the mission that God has called Mike to. Since that calling he has traveled to Ecuador several times, Honduras, the Galapagos Islands, India and various places in the US. This ministry called HisStoryTellers is now moving forward having just had their first board meeting last week. He will document this trip with video, and provide web updates.

We will spend the night in guest houses provided by Manna Ministries and then after a few hours rest, we will go shopping for clothes and toiletries, have lunch and then board the bus for Warangal, the site for our first Redemption Festival.

Please continue to pray for the team, and especially those who will come to the crusade... we know that God has great things in store. And remember, internet access can be a bit iffy in this part of the world, so if it takes a day or two to update the site, please keep checking back.
